Module 12: Complex thematic seminars

Contents: The student or a group of students select a topic for the seminar paper from a up-to-date catalogue with changing main point or a topic for the seminar paper. In this context, viewpoints from national economic, managerial economic, social, cultural technological, ecological ethical as well as local up to global viewpoint are elaborated and coordinated to an overall rating. A methodological-specialist introduction is given to the catalogue. The seminar topics are summarized into scientific-methodologically substantiated groups, for which each a scientific supervisor is responsible. The elaboration of the seminar paper is supervised by tutors. The results are presented and discussed in the plenary meeting.

Goals of qualification: The student is able to elaborate a scientific work according to international standards by using the tutorials, to present it in the plenary meeting and to represent it. The student is able to open up literature sources and other data sources and to give a lecture on, as well as to derive inferences regarding research and development. Because of the complexity of the topic and because of the group work the student is particularly familiar with interdisciplinary work in teams.

The module examination consists of the paper (Referat) (15 hours) and the seminar paper (75 hours).
